Union Savings Bank – Jordan Sanford – Mortgage Loan Officer

I began my banking career in mid-2009 at Litchfield Bancorp, which is a very small, five-branch community bank. After 7 years, I switched gears and spent about a year at Bank of America, soon realizing corporate banking was not my cup of tea. I joined Union Savings Bank in 2017 and found my “home”. As a Residential Loan Officer, I am responsible for business development, educating and guiding customers with their residential loan applications, and providing superior customer service. I am also very passionate about networking and community outreach, and truly enjoy helping first-time homebuyers. I’m also very active with numerous local business and networking organizations in Litchfield and Fairfield County.

As I stated above, I’ve worked in banking for 14 years, at different sized institutions. Union Savings Bank is their own mutual holding company and considered a “community bank”, yet we have 25 branches that stretch from our most northern branch in Goshen, CT down to Ridgefield, CT, and as far East as Canton, CT. Founded on June 20, 1866, Union Savings Bank’s charter was aimed at protecting the savings of their families and friends, set up specifically as a mutual bank to benefit the communities surrounding them.

Over the years, we’ve watched our community grow around us, and we take pride in having been a part of it. When you plant roots deep into a community, invest in its future, and grow along with it, the dedication holds a special meaning for all involved. We’ve nurtured this feeling within our other department and spread it to our loyal clients. More than just a bank, USB is a forward-thinking institution of trustworthy, dependable advisors unified by our tradition of helping customers and communities grow and prosper financially.

As a Loan Officer, I am the clients’ personal guide for the home buying process and considered the main contact through the loan closing.  I help families, friends, and neighbors find the path to homeownership, and financially navigate the largest purchase of their lives. I meet with borrowers to secure the details of a loan, assist them throughout the process, review financial information, submit applications, and monitor their overall status from start to finish. This can take anywhere from 30 to 60 days, depending on the situation. During this time, I have a great opportunity to deepen relationships with new and existing clients!

We have a competitive variety of mortgage options and terms to help anyone find the right fitting product. Personally tailoring each loan, we offer unique in-house FTHB products, FHA, CHFA, Land Loans, Construction to Perm, HELOCs, and a selection of ARMs. And since decisions are made locally and we portfolio all files, anyone can benefit from local service for the life of their loan. Since I was a processor with USB for about two years before being promoted to a Residential Loan Officer, I have established a healthy relationship with all of our processors and our two, skilled Underwriters. This fact makes the process more seamless for my borrowers.
